That is NOT silo architecture.

Hi folks,

I guess it is time to get back to basics.

Very few people that I have talked to lately understand what an
authentically silo-d website actually is.

Even some of the top SEO's I know have chosen to not silo in certain
markets- which is fine, because this is a conscious choice,

But what concerns me is when the idea of  "silo website" is used to
completely replace on-page ranking factor and basic linking strategies.

(Recently in the Theme Zoom forum there has been discussion about this
topic)

Folks, creating a website in a silo structure in order to abandon
perfectly useful (and necessary) on-page and off-page strategies has never
been the point. |

So be very careful when you send me an example of what you believe to be a
"silo website" that has dropped in ranking.

In order to qualify as a silo-d website I better see the following things
on the site:

1.  A decent themed site map needs to be present.

2. The most basic on-page factors for the theme or keyword in question-
which includes title tags.

3.  An article that at least mentions the keyword or theme in question.

4. The site must have at least made an ATTEMPT to be less imperfect than
the sites above it. (This seldom amounts to much of anything other than
the things mentioned above, but may also include ALT and Metas).

5. Yes, I know the rumor is out that I am currently no longer supporting
the use of H1 headers for your keyword. I have not come completely out of
the closet with this one, but I will let you know that I have seen
evidence that using your theme/keyword in H1 header tags has a negative
ranking correlation. I will let you know.

Folks, silo architecture is not MAGIC.

It is a science that works with the natural logic of data hierarchy and
search retrieval.

It is a way to help you keep keyword information, usability, spiderability
and design as ONE.

I suppose that does sound a little esoteric, but it is not.

Do you have a question about a silo website? Do you know what one looks
like?

If you are brave enough to have your site scrutinized, or want to ask
about one you found, e-mail me the URL themezoomsupport@gmail.com. we will
be creating a members-only mastermind group that reveals all.

We are about to launch the Krakken Blue Print Module Beta.

I need to make sure that everyone understands what qualifies in my book as
a silo website before this module launches.

Conclusion:

My view:

I will take a poorly silo'd website that has decent on-page (least
imperfect) factoring and basic themed inbound link considerations over a
crummy, partially silo-d website ANY DAY of the WEEK.

What good is a Moderately imperfect overall website if your competitor has
the Least Imperfect overall PAGE and ranks number one for the keyword you
care about the most?

It is ALL or nothing baby!

The caveat here is that with a little tweak, your Moderately Imperfect
Silo-d  Website can be come LEAST IMPERFECT for thousands of targetted
terms more quickly as you start to correct the on-page and off-page
factors that you may have missed.
