Get Ready: Recession Proofing Your SEO Business

Hi folks,

As I have been telling the story of "website architecture combined with
business success" for the last three years, I have not always made it
clear WHY you need to implement website silo architecture . . . not merely
as a way to embrace technical high rankings within search retrieval systems
like Google . . . . but how silo architecture helps you to think clearly
about your business. Generally speaking, a poorly silod website represents
a poorly thought-out business model and unique selling proposition and/or
position.

It really doesn't matter if you decide to change the name of Bruce Clay's
original methodology into something like "funnel-ing" or what-have-you
recent terms. The principles of the organizing structures and data flow
and technical issues remain fundamentally the same and will be SIMILAR for
the next several years.

It takes a programmatic mind to see beyond the "Ranking Factors" in their
isolated form and see the principles that run as a common thread between
many of these controversial ranking factors. Silo architecture is a way to
design a framework that both transcends and includes the shifting "on-page"
factors and algorithms that everyone seems to be chasing while implementing
the ones that work momentarily.

Keep in mind this . . . IF GOOGLE HAD A CHOICE THEY WOULD BE RID OF
ISOLATED RANKING FACTORS AND STICK WITH PURE CONTENT RELEVANT FACTORS.

Sorry for shouting.

But because "our" (ok Google's) search retrieval technology is still
actually in its infancy . . . and is FAR less sophisticated than most
people ever dreamed . . . the SEO industry still chases these ranking
factors and Google is still IMPRISONED by them.

I would like you to change your perspective so that you will be prepared
for the future. As the PPC side of the Search Engine Results page moves
closer to the natural results via backend products like Google Analytics
and Google Toolbar Pings (controversially) people who do not understand
"What is Changing and What to do about it" will not necessarily understand
the multi-dimensional reasons for properly researching and silo-ing a
website within their niche or vertical.

It is MOSTLY to help YOU think clearly about what you are selling and to
WHOM.

Secondly, it is to achieve high rankings for hundreds, if not thousands of
profitable keywords with far fewer inbound links than most of the
algo-holics (algorithm chasers) ever thought possible.
