Acronyms Search Engine Proven Synonyms

More on latent semantic indexing and acronyms:

I have been playing around recently with search engine proven synonyms that are acronyms. I have often wondered how Google deals with semantic synonymic terms when it comes to acronyms and anchor text. Now I know. I willl reveal some of these inside the main Theme Zoom forum and members area.

Search engine proven acronyms and synonyms of the day:

LSI (which is short for Latent Semantic Indexing).

According to the search engines, the keyword "LSI" is synonymic with the following terms and markets:

lsi, lighting services inc, language schools international, latent semantic indexing, language systems international, lsi laboratory for scientific interrogation, life span institute, law seminars international, and luminescent systems inc.

The challenge with acronyms within the realm of search engine proven synonyms is that they often have TOO MANY search enigine proven synonyms associated with them to be useful . . . but you can often get a quick glance at crossover markets or consider branding confusion that could someday affect your online brand. For example BSA (boy scouts of america) is also "business systems automated". If you know what you are doing, it is possbile to use this sort of knowledge in your advantage . . . and as a pure white hat SEO.
The search engines don't really care if "proven synonyms" are in a related market or align to a similar subject matter. They only validate of the synonymic value of a keyword or keyword phrase by the number of websites using the term. Weight is given to the term with the most inbound links and subject matter authority.

So in the above term, LSI means "latent semantic indexing", but Google has given more power to the Logic Corporation homepage as more relevant to the accronym LSI (Latent Semanitc Indexing). According to Google, this acronym is best known for the corporation, not for the scientific phrase. This is often true for non-acronym phrases as well like "Apple". Apple computer dominates the term, and unless you add the word "pie" to your search query "Apple Computers" is more of an apple, according to Google, than an apple is.
We are discovering new ways to tap into the underutilized power of synonymic and acronymic keywords and phrases. These will be revealed soon in one of our keyword research online video tutorials.
