Video: Content Curation versus The Information Diet

The Information Diet talks about how we ought to dive below the manufactured communications and seek out the truth from the source and having a professionally written bio doesn’t really align with those values. The best way to get to know Clay is to participate directly with him, or listening to what he has to say. Attend an event or online Google+ Hangout with Clay and get to know him. David Eaves’ introduction of him in this video is probably the most accurate he’s ever heard.

Clay Johnson, author of “The Information Diet,” believes that consumption is the source of our information problems. (Not information overload) An interview with Johnson is featured in this episode of O’Reilly Radar:

The ideas expressed by Clay in his book “The Information Diet” are similar to the ideas expressed by the Curation Profits team, where we are fond of quoting David Allen of GTD when he said:

There is no such thing as information overload, there is only Potential Meaning overload”

 - David Allen

This topic is extremely important to students who would understand Acceptance for Cognitive Value, a cognitive theory developed by Theme Zoom co-inventor Russell Wright.

This book is highly recommended by the Curation Profits Team. Please see The Information Diet at the Theme Zoom Bookstore for more details:
Theme Zoom Resource List – The Information Diet: A Case for Conscious ConsumptionThe modern human animal spends upwards of 11 hours out of every 24 in a state of constant consumption. Not eating, but gorging on information ceaselessly spewed from the screens and speakers we hold dear. Just as we have grown morbidly obese on sugar, fat, and flour-so, too, have we become gluttons for texts, instant messages, emails, RSS feeds, downloads, videos, status updates, and tweets.
