Update: Google Mayday Long Tail Algorithm Bomb

Some of you may recall in May when it was confirmed that Google was creating a “ranking change” (not a crawler change) in their algorithm. This changed seemed to threaten one-hit-wonder long tail rankings and other low hanging fruit long tail keywords. It also dumped people who were ranking highly for long tails for very little structural work in the overall site- and those who did not have these long tails technically braided into the overall Theme Architecture of their website. In this weeks podcast we will update you on the current progress of this algorithm and how it has affected our own network. We we also take this time to remind you of the importance of an authority site mindset which should include website silo architecture. For those of you who are intimate with the concept of  WSA or “Website Silo Architecture” understand why using this sort of architecture in your website will leave you unaffected by the changes made in May. Website Silo Architecture was first discussed by my original SEO mentor, Mr. Bruce Clay of Bruce Clay Inc. He first started speaking about WSA sometime around the birth of Google (yeah he has been around that long) . . . and it has been one of the only evergreen technical SEO  concepts ever since. He deserves all of the credit for attempting to educate the SEO community about this principle. The keyword phrase here is “attempting to educate” since almost nobody understands the root principle of top-down silo architecture. Fewer still can apply this method to a living, breathing business model. We have been attempting to make it easier for the world to understand Mr. Clay’s original concept via the development of vertical online market research and analysis software that doubles as a website content selection and content heuristics tool. When people get how it works it changes the way that they think about online research and site development. We have finally made it possible for even the layman to grasp the basics about online vertical market research and Website Silo Architecture with the creation of TZ-DWS (Domain Web Studio).
